So whose account is Elmo turning on first in his great reactivation of all the banned accounts? Will it be person who sent me perpetual vile accusations about my dead mother, or the stalkers who created a weekly campaign to contact my employer and the police about my tweets, sling insults about me and demand I get fired, or will it be the incels who sent me detailed descriptions of how they would abduct and torture me?
Round and around it goes, where it stops, nobody knows.
I can’t take all of those people coming back at once and just keep producing content. It’s not just mentally awful, it’s a legit threat against my safety. This is screwed up.

@hacks4pancakes I dont even see how he will keep the site online with the loss of almost everyone who knows how the backend works, every change he makes is going to tear open security holes and it will only be a matter of time befoe it ends up offline.
I hate the idea of unmoderated social networks. You used to feel safe on myspace, these days you cant help but be afraid of notifications.

My question is what is going to happen first: A major cold-start required failure or Chapter 11 bankruptcy as I don't see any advertisers coming back and there is >$1B/yr debt load now, and Elon's equity share should already be valued at $0.
Probably a year-and-a-day for Chapter 11, so he can offset a bunch of capital gains for selling more Tesla stock.

@ncweaver @hacks4pancakes @naughtynatali Assuming Tesla stock is still a thing in a year. I'm not so sure. There will be more suits over fires and self-driving caused accidents, more recalls, plus more competition from better, cheaper electric vehicles. In a year people may be looking at Tesla as a cautionary tale, just like Twitter.
@naughtynatali @hacks4pancakes A lot of people have correctly identified the problem of all the big platforms having very similarly-problematic moderation policies and came to the wrong conclusion that unmoderated social media is the answer. Which is like noticing that the FDA fails to approve useful treatments fast enough and responding by just downing anything that anyone anywhere labels "medicine".
